Lillian G. Franco

Lillian G. Franco, 82, of Apple Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, Decmber 18, 2011 at her home. Funeral Services are scheduled for Wednesday, December 21, 2011, 11:00 AM, at Hillcrest Church of God, 234 N. 6th Street, with Bro. Dale Arnold officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lillian G. Franco was born August 28, 1929 in Albuquerque, NM to William Harry and Lillie (Dow) Glover. She grew up in the Manzano Mountains on her father's ranch. Lillian attended Harwood Girls School for 11 years then graduated from Estancia High School. In May of 1952 she married an army man, Arsenio Gallegos and together they had 11 children, he preceded her in death. In June 1997 she married Nolasco Franco. Her hobbies included music, gardening, crocheting and family photo genealogy. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers; two sisters and first husband, Arsenio Gallegos. She is survived by her husband, Nolasco Franco of Carlsbad, NM; 11 children: Roberta Jones of Carlsbad, NM, Patsy Vigil of Carlsbad, NM, Colleen Leslie of Albuquerque, NM, Narda Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM, Norman Gallegos of Taos, NM, Vernon Gallegos of Elko, NV, Nadine Vigil of Espanola, NM, Holly Gallegos of Cerro, NM, Iris Doerr of Roswell, NM, Natalie Gallegos of Roswell, NM, Nathan Gallegos of Carlsbad, NM; adopted grandson, Matthew Bailon of Albuquerque, NM; 102 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jerome Vigil, Arsenio Jones, Matthew Bailon, Steven Garcia, Daniel Gallegos and Jon Michael Welch. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
