Lieselotte Enriquez was born in Lindow, Germany on December 3, 1925, to Ernest and Elizabeth (Gunther) Betzin. She grew up in Berlin, Germany and lived there during the war. Teddy left the eastern zone after the war and went into West Germany with the help of the Americans. She worked for the US Army during that time. In 1948, she came to the United States and on to Carlsbad by train. Teddy lived in White's City where she worked until becoming a US citizen on October 22, 1951. Teddy started her career with the City of Carlsbad in 1962. She retired as a bookkeeper in 1990 after 28 years of service. After the Eastern Wall came down, Teddy always enjoyed her trips back to Germany to visit her family. She also enjoyed the many trips her family made to the United States.
