Leticia R. Delgado

Leticia R. Delgado, 42, of Carlsbad, NM passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2022. Leticia was born March 14, 1980, in Carlsbad, NM to Jose and Raquel Delgado. 

Visitation is scheduled from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home, followed by a Vigil at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will take place at the Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Leticia grew up in Carlsbad, NM and graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1999. During high school and college she worked at Cortez Mexican Restaurant, where she made lifelong friends.  She then went to New Mexico State University and graduated with her Master's in Education. Returning to Carlsbad, Leticia began her teaching career working at NMSU-Carlsbad. In 2012, she began working as a Math teacher at Alta Vista Middle school and most recently was teaching the Bilingual Program at Carlsbad Intermediate School. She always strived to better the lives of those around her, and was able to share her love of learning with her students. Leticia loved socializing with people and was the person who never met a stranger. She was notoriously known to be fashionably late to every event but managed to be the most expected arrival. Leticia always lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling and exploring new places. She especially loved taking road trips and going to car shows with Jason. Within the last six months, Leticia was given the opportunity to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a Mother.  Everyone who knew her, saw first-hand how she loved fiercely and gave endlessly. She radiantly shined in life and will continue to live on in the hearts of those she loved.

Leticia was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Pedro and Leonor Delgado; and maternal grandfather, Victorio Ruiz.

Leticia is survived by her husband, Jason Quintana of Carlsbad, NM; son, Revvin of Carlsbad, NM; parents, Jose and Raquel Delgado of Carlsbad, NM; three siblings all of Carlsbad, NM: Veronica Lopez; Jose Santos and Magali; and Isela Delgado and Felipe; maternal grandmother, Francisca Ruiz of Carlsbad, NM; eight nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and god children.

Pallbearers will be: Javier "Cito" Lopez, Rafael A. Lopez, Anthony Ruiz, Hector Quintana, Richard Santana, and Adam Rivas.
