Leslie Bowen Hand

Leslie Bowen Hand, 44, of West Derrick Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away after a long kung-fu battle with breast cancer on Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Carlsbad Medical Center. There will be no visitation, cremation will take place. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2013, 10:00 AM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Burke officiating. A celebration of Leslie's life will immediately follow at the family home. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Leslie Bowen Hand was born December 13, 1968 in San Angelo, Texas to Carl Fay and Martha (Weddle) Bowen. She married Dwayne Hand on December 13, 1999 in Carlsbad. Leslie worked as a bookkeeper for Morco Geological, Merchant Livestock and most recently Beeman Accounting. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Fay Bowen, brothers: Steve Fletcher and Ronnie Bowen. She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Hand of Carlsbad, NM; three children: Cory Oliver of San Angelo, TX, Savannah Hand of Carlsbad, NM, Jax Hand of Carlsbad, NM; granddaughter, McKenzie Oliver; mother: Martha Holland of San Angelo, TX; two brothers: Wayne Holland and wife, Amy of Monett, MO and Guy Holland of San Angelo, TX.
