Lena Mae Fitch

Lena Mae Fitch, 87, of Westridge Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away February 26, 2014 at Landsun Health Services Center. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, March 3, 2014, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbd Cemetery with Rev. Phillip Price officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Lena Mae Fitch was born August 11, 1926 in Thacker, West Virginia to John and Cynthia Clark. She was raised and graduated from high school in Delbarton, West Virginia. On February 2, 1944 she married Dennis Fitch in Delbarton, West Virginia. From her teenage years through her early 20's she was a song leader and played guitar at her church and for Brush Arbor meetings across the countryside. During this time, she was also active in the Women's Missionary Council. They moved to Carlsbad August 5, 1959. Lena was a homemaker. She has been a member of Calvary Assembly of God since 1959. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dennis Fitch; brothers: Curtis, Lawrence, Sid, Marce and sisters: Juanita and Opal. Survivors are her son, Scott Fitch and wife, Vonda Kay of Carlsbad, NM; grandchildren: Audra Fitch of Midland, Jaxon Fitch of Carlsbad, Lexie Fitch of Carlsbad; brother, Bill Clark of Salem, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Alex Palma, Israel Palma, Terry Rogers, Bill Sibley, Patrick Long and Chris Long. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
