Lemoyne Hayes

Lemoyne Hayes, 90, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away February 20, 2025 at her home. Visitation will be held at 12 noon, Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM with Philip Huston officiating. A graveside service is scheduled for 9:00 AM, Monday, February 24, 2025 at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lemoyne was born in Cass City, MI on the family farm on October 10th, 1934. She loved to tell stories of growing up on the farm milking cows and being struck by lightning twice. She graduated from Cass City High School. Lemoyne married Cliff in 1953 in Cass City and together they raised 3 children in Ohio. In retirement they built homes and took care of Philip, their first grandchild. Cliff passed away in 1998. For the last 25 years, Lemoyne has been married to Blaine Hayes. They continued building houses and enjoyed traveling, geocaching, and spending time with family. Lemoyne was unstoppable and was active up to the time of her passing. She was the ultimate cheerleader for her family and took pride in all of their accomplishments. 

Lemoyne was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clifford Van Vliet and son, Barry Van Vliet.

Survivors are her husband, Blaine Hayes; son, Alan Van Vliet and wife, Michelle; daughter, Joyce Crider and husband, Rick; stepson, Theodore Hayes and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren: Philip Huston and wife, Diana, Danielle Crider, Natalie Milner and husband, Shane, Isaiah Hayes, and Trinity Hayes; great-grandchildren: Abigail Huston, Hannah Huston, Naomi Huston, and Benjamin Milner; sister, Yvonne Greer; brother, Jerry Krohn, and several nieces and nephews.
