LeeRoy R. Guevara

LeeRoy "Mijo" Guevara, 35, of Alamosa Street passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Covenant Medical center in Lubbock, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am, Saturday, July 5, 2014 at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Valentine Jankowski OFM, Conv. officiating. There will be no public visitation. A Private family interment will be held at a later date. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. LeeRoy was born in Roswell, NM on September 2, 1978 to LeeRoy and Cory Guevara. LeeRoy's passion for music began at 4 years old when he picked up a sword and pretended it was a guitar. He was self-taught and could pick up music by ear. His love for music was intense and he found great comfort playing alone or recording for his biggest fan, his Mom. While LeeRoy did not have siblings, he found big brothers in his cousins, Jimmy and Tony Cisneros, who he had tremendous respect for. Those of us fortunate enough to have him in our lives were witness to his kind, gentle and loving soul. LeeRoy's love was also exhibited in his care of Dru, Lil Bit, Lizzy and Tink as well as others whose care he was entrusted, Lucy, Molly, Wrigley, KD, Nermal and Sady. LeeRoy loved his many cousins and often recounted time with them as the happiest times, one example being when he lived in Albuquerque where he deepened his relationship with cousins Lil'Roly, Justin & Jesse as well as Uncle Roly and Caren. His big heart and selfless nature were best known by Melinda McIntire. LeeRoy loved to witness the sunrise as much as he enjoyed the sunsets depicted in Aunt Linnie's numerous Walker Farm posts! If our love alone could have been enough he would have lived forever. LeeRoy was preceded in death by maternal grandfather, Antonio"Tonio" Guevara and his paternal grandfather, Aristeo Guevara. He is survived by maternal grandmother, Jane Guevara and paternal grandmother, Hope Guevara; uncles: Danny and Laura Guevara, Richard Guevara; aunts: Bonnie Carrasco, Virgie Lara, Bodi Guevara, Selina Guevara and Henry Lopez, Valerie and Scott Branson; uncles: Erly Guevara, Tony and Kina Guevara, Roly and Caren Guevara, Obbie Guevara, Mario Guevara; cousins: Chris, Dominic, Tanya, Monica, Kristi, Anthony, Jimmy Cisneros, Tony Cisneros, Crystal Wencl, Tirsten Hamilton, Tarin Sneathen, Aaron Guevara, Tony Guevara, Val Guevara, Neveah Guevara, Jordan Bowen, Jade Branson, Johnna Branson, Diamond Guevara, Roland Guevara, Jr., Justin Guevara, Jesse Guevara, Peyton Guevara, Kirstyn Guevara and Jaxon Guevara.
