Glenn Schrock was born on August 20, 1950, in Oak Grove, Louisiana to Onis Alvin Schrock and Mamie Evelyn Kelley Schrock. He passed from this life on December 19, 2023, at the family home, surrounded by his loving family.

Visitation will be held at Denton-Wood funeral home on December 22, 3:00-6:00 PM. His funeral will be held December 23, 2023, at the Weed Baptist Church in Weed, NM at 1:00 PM. Graveside services will be held immediately following at Lusk Cemetery near Weed, NM. Pastor, Steve Griffith will officiate.

Glenn was a year old when his family moved to Carlsbad, NM.  He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1969. He went on to work at Duval, American National, Cass Construction, IMC and retired from the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant. During his career he worked as an electrician, carpenter, salesman, construction worker and as a hoisting electrician and trainer.

Glenn was dearly loved by all with his charming personality and contagious laugh. He always worked hard on any project and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He built houses, shops, porches, pens, finished cement, tiled, and did many remodeling projects over the years.

He had an adventurous spirit and throughout his life he made many memories hunting, fishing, going on buggy rides with friends he considered family, motorcycling, SCUBA diving, traveling for pleasure and work. He loved dancing, spending time with friends and he could sure cut a rug!

Glenn enjoyed coaching girls’ softball for numerous years. He loved the game and cherished the time he coached his team the “IMC Aces”.

In 2004, Glenn married the love of his life Beverly. After raising three girls of his own, he helped raise Beverly’s three daughters.  He loved all his girls and taught them many life lessons. He was a wonderful bonus Dad and was dearly loved.

In 2014 Glenn and Bev decided to be “farmers”. They bought a small alfalfa farm near Loving and had lots of fun adventures on the farm. He made the hardest things seem so simple, easy, and fun. From his younger years until later in life he loved the simple things. He loved the mountains, wildlife, family, and friends.

After his retirement in 2017 they purchased a property near Weed, NM where they eventually made their home.  He loved being in the mountains and always said that being in the mountains felt like being a little closer to heaven.  He enjoyed the peace and quiet and watching the wildlife. Glenn enjoyed being a part of the Weed Baptist Church where he and Beverly met so many sweet and caring good friends.

Glenn was diagnosed in April of 2017 with Stage 4 cancer.   He had numerous invasive surgeries, radiation, immunotherapy, and many rounds of chemotherapy. After being in remission for nearly 5 years, the cancer returned twice. After a courageous battle, we are heartbroken but also at peace that he is now in the arms of Jesus. We are so thankful for how he loved and lived and that we will get to see him again in Heaven.

Glenn was preceded in death by his mother and father, stepdaughter Michelle Stoltzfus, father-in-law Thurman “Tooks” Ballard, and nephew Robert Schrock.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly of the family home in Weed, brother, Jim Schrock and wife Betty of Carlsbad, daughters: Stacy Haddenham and husband Kim of Pueblo, CO, Rhonda Foutch and husband Rick of Carlsbad, NM, Sheila Schrock and partner Jake Origas of Timberon, NM, Danica Shaw and husband Colton, and Samantha Luna and husband Cristian of Carlsbad, Eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
