Larry Albert Lynch was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on July 18, 2024. Larry was born on April 27, 1941 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Albert Milton Lynch and Evelyn Jamon Morgan Lynch. Larry grew up in Carlsbad, graduating from Carlsbad High School in 1959. Larry married his high school sweetheart, Nita Collett, in October of 1959. Together they celebrated a beautiful 64 years of marriage.

In September of 1960 their first son, Dale, was born. Soon after, they moved to Plainview, Texas where Larry attended Wayland Baptist University to study business. In 1965 they returned to Carlsbad where he began his 34-year career with Amax Chemical Corporation. In November of 1966 they welcomed their second child, Doug, to the family. Over the years, Larry and Nita relocated with Amax to Utah, Nevada and Alaska. The couple was living in Fairbanks, Alaska when Larry retired from Amax in 1999. Their only granddaughter, Kayli, was born in Reno, Nevada in August of 1995. After Larry’s retirement, the couple returned to Reno, Nevada where their two sons and granddaughter resided at the time. In 2002, they returned to New Mexico and settled in Artesia for 18 years. In 2020, they moved back to their hometown of Carlsbad.

Larry had a passion for serving the Lord and helping others. He was active in multiple churches over the years where he served in various capacities including: leading music, teaching Sunday school, and serving on various church committees and as a deacon for over 50 years. He served on the board of the New Mexico Baptist Children’s Home as well as the Black River Christian Learning Center. Larry’s love for Christ was apparent and contagious to all who knew him. He was gifted mechanically and could be found helping the widow ladies of his church, neighbors, family and friends with problems around the house or auto repairs.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother. Survivors include his wife Nita Lynch, son Dale Lynch and wife Angela, son Doug Lynch and wife Rebecca, his precious granddaughter Dr. Kayli Archer and husband Hazer, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
