Ken "Skip" Evans, 87, of W. Edwards Rd., Carlsbad, NM, passed away April 22, 2011 at Lakeview Christian Home.
A Memorial service is scheduled for Monday, May 2, 2011, 2:00 PM, at Happy Valley Baptist Church with Pastor Jimmy Tarvin officiating.
Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Skip was born March 23, 1924 in Newark, New Jersey. He served his country in the US Navy during WW II. Ken lived in Staten Island, New York where he managed an automotive parts warehouse for many years until moving to Summit, New York in 1986. He moved to Carlsbad in 1994. Skip volunteered at the library here for many years sharing his love of books. He also had a talent for interior design having designed several windows in New York. Ken was very detailed in everything he accomplished. He will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include cousin Poppy Broderick Gallipani of New Jersey and her four children; Jacqueline Oakes, Steven Wajda, Sandra Kamberogiannis and Christina Brenner
