Kenneth "Pepa" Groves, 75, of Soper Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away March 6, 2012 at his home.
There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for Friday, March 9, 2012, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor David Prell and Rev. David Wilson Rogers officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth "Pepa" Groves was born January 24, 1937 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Gilbert and Mildred (Rupert) Groves. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1955. Ken worked for MORCO Geological where he retired in 2000 after 25 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in the Guadalupe Mountains. Ken had a passion for Cavemen Baseball and was always there to support the kids. Most importantly he loved having all of his family together. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Mildred Groves; three brothers, Harold Groves, Donald Groves and Roger Groves and one grandson, Steven McCrory.
Survivors are his wife, Elsie Groves of Carlsbad, NM; two sons: Kenny Groves and wife, Dondee of Carlsbad, NM, Kenny McGinnis and wife, Patti of LaLuz, NM; five daughters: Tricia Livingston of Whitesboro, TX, Pam Grissom and husband, Marty of Gainsville, TX, Kenna Hildebrand of Gainesville, TX, Shari Cullum of Carlsbad, NM, Jenny King and husband, Russell of Carlsbad, NM; 21 grandchildren: Kent Hughes, Misty Hildebrand, Billy McCrory, Kevin Clark, Jeremy McCrory, Ashley Clark, Krysta Hildebrand, Will Clark, Christy King, Stephanie King, Keila King, Megan McGinnis, Tanner Grissom, Taylor Grissom, Devin Groves, Brenna Groves, Madison Asbury-Groves, Chanler Groves, Ryan McGinnis, Lisa McGinnis, Jessica Aguilar; 22 great-grandchildren; sister, Josephine Wood of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
