Katie Crumpacker, 85, of East Fiesta Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her daughter's home in Crossett, Arkansas.
A Graveside Service is scheduled for Saturday, June 11, 2011, 10:00 AM, at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park with Pastor Dick Means officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Katie Crumpacker was born September 8, 1925 in Tyler, Texas to Fred and Allie (Riley) Dillard. She started school in Trinidad, Texas, Tyler, Texas, Luftkin, Texas, Key, Texas, Seal Beach, California, Phoenix, Arizona and graduated in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She married Paul Crumpacker on August 1, 1944 in Carlsbad. She worked for IMC and as a secretary at the Air Base. After her children were in college, Katie, went back to work for Carlsbad Oil and retired in 1996 after 30 years of service. She enjoyed crocheting, playing fast pitch softball, slow pitch softball, reading, gardening and bowling. Katie was a member of the BPOE-Does and Cavern Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul in 1998; son, Jimmy Wayne Crumpacker in 1997; sister, Dorothy Jean Dingus and son-in-law, Jimmy Martin.
She is survived by her daughter, Billie Kay Martin of Crossett, Arkansas; son, Joe Paul Crumpacker of Hillsboro, Texas; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Martin, Bubba Edwards, Cole Crumpacker, Chad Nance, Daniel Ellis, Paul Murray and Matt Murray.
