Kathy Lynn Stevens

Obituary Kathy Lynn Stevens, 68 of Carlsbad, New Mexico passed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, August 4, 2019. Kathy was born August 5, 1950 to Paul and Evelyn Nichols in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She met her husband Ted Kenneth Stevens in high school and was married to him for 38 years. He preceded her in death on July 8, 2006. She was an amazing mother to her children and supported Ted as he was director at several camps around Michigan and was the cook. They moved to Tucson, Arizona in May 1999 and then later moved to Carlsbad in April 2008. Kathy is survived by her children, Barry (Kristy) Stevens of Lebanon, Tennessee, Tod (Michelle) Stevens of Pinckney, Michigan, Julie Nachtigal of Webberville, Michigan, Amy Stevens of Carlsbad, NM, and Traci (Keith) Stephens of Carlsbad, NM as well as twelve grandchildren and one great grandson. Kathy is also survived by brothers and sisters: Terry Nichols, Judy Ross, Dennis Nichols, Pam Clark, Carol Nichols, Carl Nichols, and Vern Nichols, in addition to many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ted, and brother, Ray Nichols. A memorial service is planned in the near future as the family will join together in Michigan and celebrate her life.
