Kathy Diane Pitts, age 62, died on December 31, 2010. Kathy was born August 12, 1948 in Clovis, New Mexico to Milton (Dick) and Mary Beck. She attended Melrose, New Mexico Public Schools until the family moved to Brownfield in 1957, where she attended Brownfield Public Schools and graduated from Brownfield High School in 1966. She also attended Lubbock Christian College. On August 21, 1980 she married Richard Pitts. She worked many years for the Lea and Eddy County Extension Offices and retired from the New Mexico State University in Carlsbad. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her father Milton E Beck. She is survived by her husband Richard Pitts of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Rachele Milenski and husband, Eric of Perryton, Texas; two grandchildren: Ashlee and Cole Milenski; mother, Mary Beck of Brownfield Texas; sisters: Debbie Jones and Pam Pearson of Amarillo, Texas. Kathy will always be remembered for her infectious smile, sweet personality, and servant heart. Her pride and joy were her daughter and grandchildren. There will be a public visitation Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Brownfield Funeral Home, 120 W. Tate, Brownfield, TX. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 5, 2011, 2:00 PM at Brownfield Church of Christ in Brownfield, TX with Bob Reynolds officiating. Interment will be in Terry County Memorial Cemetery, Brownfield, TX. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the New Mexico Children's Home, 1356 NM 236, Portales, NM 88130 or The American Cancer Society 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE # 300, Albuquerque, NM 87111.
