Kathy (Johnson) Morgan

Obituary Kathy Morgan, 49, of Russell Street Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2019, at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas surrounded by her family. There will be no visitation, and a funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, August 12, 2019, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Mary Lynn Bogle, Commissioned Lay Pastor officiating. Kathy was born on May 7, 1970, in Carlsbad, NM to Gary and Suzette Johnson. After graduating from Carlsbad High School, she got married and started a family. Kathy then went on to graduate with a bachelors in social work from New Mexico Highland University. For many years, she pursued her passion as a case worker for CYFD and CARC. Her natural care for others made her a fierce advocate for children, the disabled, and simply anyone that was around her in need. Kathy was most of all a loving mother, who will be dearly missed and never forgotten. Kathy was preceded in death by her grandparents; and step brother, Gary Wayne Johnson, Jr. Kathy was survived by her husband, James Morgan of Carlsbad, NM; son, Matthew Morgan of Las Cruces, NM; parents, Gary and Suzette Johnson of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Billy Johnson and wife, Jennifer of Las Cruces, NM; two nephews, Kyle and Aaron Johnson; uncle, Joe Huber and wife, Faye of Carlsbad, NM; uncle, Jim Huber of Payson, AZ; uncle, Bill Wiseman and wife, Jennifer of Fairport, NY; and numerous cousins.
