Obituary Kathy J. Hawkins, 68, of Sioux Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. There will be a memorial service for her on Saturday October 20, 2018, starting at 2 PM at Denton Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Kathy J. Hawkins was born August 31, 1950 in Carlsbad, NM to JD Rogers and Martha Laverne Nelson. Kathy was raised in Carlsbad and was part of the graduating class of 1969. After living in Texas a few years, she moved back to Carlsbad and married Jamie Hawkins. She was a loving mother and devoted wife. Kathy was a Jane of all trades, and over the years had worked at the potash mines in Carlsbad (IMC), Maxwell House in Houston, TX (belt line), and Carlsbad National Bank and Western Commerce Bank (bank teller). She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are her husband Jamie Hawkins: one daughter: CheraBlackmon of Carlsbad, NM; Lanndon Blackmon and wife Stacey of Carlsbad; Jon Blackmon and wife Misti of Carlsbad; Steven Hawkins of Carlsbad; and Jayson Hawkins and Jamie of Carlsbad. Six grandchildren: Cyd and Kloe Campos; Jayce and Maycelyn; Alex and Eric Haynie. One sister Marilyn Whitmire and three brothers: Jerry Rogers and wife Susan; Bubba Whitmire and wife Rose; Mike Rogers and wife Colleen. Also extended family Grannie Annie Daughtrey, Steven and Jennifer, Samantha Ann, and Amy.
