Kathleen "Nana" Buffington

Kathleen “Nana” Buffington, 71, of Cottontop Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away November 3, 2021 at her home. Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 10:30 AM, Monday, November 8, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Monday, November 8, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Edward Buerkle officiating. Cremation will take place following the service.

Kathleen was born April 5, 1950 in Hobbs, NM, to J.D. and Nona (Cox) McFarland. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1969. Kathleen married Frank Buffington Oct. 4, 1970. They were married for 51 wonderful years. She was devoted to raising her children in the early years and was a wonderful mother. She was a very loving and caring mother. Nana, loved her grandkids with all her heart they are her world. Kathleen coached t-ball, volunteered with CASA and was a member of Otis Baptist Church. Nana will be greatly missed by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Ruby Wilson and Wanda McMinn and brother, Dan McFarland.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Frank Buffington; son, Bob Buffington; daughter, Becky Weems; grandchildren: Ashley Buffington, Ryan Weems and girlfriend, Baylee, Sara Weems and Macy Mae Johnson; brother, Mike McFarland and wife, Linda; sister, Linda Brasfield and husband, James; brothers-in-law: James Wilson and Bob Buffington; cousin who was like a sister, Paula Gourlay and husband, Jerry and numerous nieces and nephews.
