Katherine L. "Katie" Dominguez, 87, of W. Hagerman Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Lakeview Christian Home.
Visitation will be at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at San Jose Catholic Church.
A Vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, December 2, 2015, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, December 3, 2015, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Katherine L. "Katie" Dominguez was born October 11, 1928 in Alpine, Texas to Carlos R. and Beatrice (Cobos) Loya, Sr. She married Manuel M. Dominguez January 6, 1946 in Alpine, Texas. In 1947, they moved to Carlsbad where she raised her three daughters. Katie enjoyed caring for others. She spent years taking care of family members and friends. Katie also volunteered many hours for a number of organizations including chaplaincy at the hospital, hospital auxiliary, life line, Red Cross and Lakeview Christian Home. She was also a member of San Jose Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas-Court San Jose #2252, Legion of Mary, lecturer of the Eucharist and often times took communion to the sick. Most of all, Katie loved to be with grandchildren and watch their sports activities. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 51 years, Manuel M. Dominguez; daughter, Manuela "Chris" Lopez; great-grandson, Steven L. Chavez; sisters: Mildred Robles, Mary L. Martinez and brothers: Monroe Adamson and Charlie Loya, Jr.
Survivors are her daughters: Erlinda Anaya and husband, Bobby of Mammoth, Arizona, Maria Griego and husband, Rudy of Carlsbad, NM; son-in-law, Jimmy Lopez of Visalia, California; 9 grandchildren: David Griego and wife, Victoria, Valerie Bryant and husband, Alex, Jennifer Jimenez, Gabriel Anaya and wife, Chris, Kathy Espinoza and husband, Ray, Carlos Anaya, Debbie Chavez, Tina Lopez, Yvonne Aguirre and husband, Anthony; great-grandchildren: Chassity and Trinity Griego and 19 additional great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be the Holy Name Society.
Honorary pallbearers are Lakeview Christian Home and Hospice Staff, Eugene Rea and Bill McIlwee.
