Karen A. Young, 57, of North Thomas Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away June 29, 2010 at her home. There will be no visitation, cremation has taken place. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Monday, July 5, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Chaplain Terry McKean officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Karen A. Young was born on December 15, 1952 in Artesia, NM to William and Betty (Angle) Hunter. In life the things she enjoyed most was being in her home, visiting with family and she loved her dogs. Karen's hobbies included sewing, crafts, reading, bible study and watching movies with her husband. She was preceded in death by her father, William Hunter and mother-in-law, Betty Young. She is survived by her husband, Jerry M. Young of Carlsbad, NM; mother, Betty Hunter of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Jenny Watson and husband, Brian of Austin, TX, Amy Krause of Austin, TX; son, J. D. Krause and wife, LaShawna of Carlsbad, NM; step-son, Jeff Young of Carlsbad, NM; five grandchildren; Tyler, Ryan, Karis, Kaitlin and Autumn; mother-in-law, Betty Young and sister, Lynn Lind of Deming, NM.
