Justin Rankin, 59, of Carlsbad, NM passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. Justin was born January 12, 1965, in Roswell, NM. Cremation has taken place, and there is a Celebration of Life scheduled for 6:30 PM, Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 4207 Jones St., Carlsbad, NM 88220. 

Justin married the love of his life, Johanna on April 6, 1989. They moved to Alaska for twenty years and started their family. Justin loved the outdoors, and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and living the mountain life. He spent thirty years perfecting his craft of welding. Justin was a brilliant craftsman of all trades. He was a well-respected and honorable man. He was a Christian man who loved his family dearly. Justin’s family was his world, and he cherished spending each moment with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Justin was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Rankin.

Justin is survived by his wife, Johanna Rankin of Carlsbad, NM; three children: Caleb Rankin of Carlsbad, NM; Shane Rankin and wife, Savannah of Loving, NM; and Stephanie Mobley and husband, Zachery of Carlsbad, NM; daughter-in-law, Sharon Rankin of Carlsbad, NM; eight grandchildren: Hunter, Jaycee, Lexi, Shayanna, Cutter, Noah, Abel, and Paisley; mother, Vera White and husband, Larry of Edgewood, NM; three siblings: Shanna White Smith and husband, John of Big Spring, TX; Travis White of Carlsbad, NM; and Virgil White Rankin and wife, Loretta of Edgewood, NM; sister-in-law, Brandee Woods; and numerous other extended family and friends.
