Justin L. Estrada

Justin L. Estrada, 34, of Solana Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2013 in Phoenix, Arizona. Visitation will be 2:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, May 2, 2013, 10:30 AM, at Sunset Church of Christ, 1308 W. Blodgett St., with Mike Veilleux officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Justin L. Estrada was born July 21, 1978, in Carlsbad, NM, to Jimmy L. Estrada and Angela Woodall. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1996. Justin attended college and played baseball at Lubbock Christian College. He married Christa Jeffress August 29, 2009 here in Carlsbad, NM. Justin worked primarily in the oilfield, most recently being a partner of Goliath Excavating. He coached Little Caveman Trojan football, Shorthorn Little League baseball and Cavemen baseball. Justin was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He enjoyed football, baseball, golf, coaching and spending time with his family and friends. Justin had a strong will with lots of determination and a big heart. Justin would say, "you need to be a better person today than you were yesterday." He was preceded in death by his grandfathers: Lupe Estrada and Pappy Ollie; and father, Jim Estrada. Survivors are his wife, Christa Estrada of Carlsbad, NM; step-mother, Pearlene Estrada of Carlsbad, NM; children: Tristan, Mason, Mattney, Kilea, Jackson Wade and Jacie, all of Carlsbad, NM; brothers: Tim Estrada and wife, Danialle of Carlsbad, NM and Michael Estrada of Albuquerque, NM; sisters: Joy Price of Mesquite, Texas and Misti Schmitz and husband, Ken of Oklahoma; grandmothers: Eva Estrada of Roswell, NM and Shirley Hurst of Arkansas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bruce and Liz Jeffress of Carlsbad, NM; adopted parents, Wade and Anna Mae White of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Phil Madron, Bobby Bowen, Shane Andrews, Steve Garza, Chris Davis, John Lowe, Derek Neeld, Brett Fletcher and Lance Ridgway. Honorary pallbearers are Mason Estrada, Tristan Walker, A J Estrada, Nate Arrington, J R Bustamante, Trey Castaneda, Ty Castaneda, Jake Bowen, Will Garza, Carlos Gonzales, Will Fiala, Brenden Lopez and Austyn Chester.
