June Plumlee was born July 4, 1935 in Carlsbad New Mexico to Elmer B and Euna Goad.
She was a resident of Landsun Homes where she was with Landsun Hospice.
June was a lifetime resident of Carlsbad and was involved with many activities. She was a faithful member of the 10th and Lea St. Church of Christ. She had many hobbies; crafts, painting with pastels, sewing, painting her husbands wood cutouts of animals like birds, donkeys or horses. She also had a strong work ethic and did not shy away from helping the family make ends meet during the early potash years and a hard hit strike of 62. She did ironing, upholstery refinishing, and she worked at the municipal court for a few years (her favorite job). Her greatest legacy was the devotion and love that she had for her children and grandchildren. She would fight any giant to defend her sons and the school board took her serious. June was equally passionate and protective of her marriage to her cowboy Sam.
I will mention that after her husband passed and she was at Landsun Homes, she was very fortunate to find a dear friend whom she fell in love with. She was able to enjoy the last few years of her life with a true and dear friend, Andrew Bindel. We wish to acknowledge all the wonderful staff and nurses at Landsun Homes for their caring, compassion, and dedication to Moms well being and comfort while she was there. You have our deep appreciation. She will always be loved and greatly missed, but she is home at last and we would not wish her back.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband Sam Plumlee Sr. and three sons, Bobby Ray, Ricky Dale and Billy Randal as well as her mother and father, brother Ray and sister Mary.
She is survived by her son, Sam Plumlee Jr and wife Sue; sister, Nita Brannan and husband, Carl; brothers, Robert E. Goad and Kenneth Goad; grandchildren, Marvin Plumlee and wife Amy, Kris Hill, Cindy Michaels and husband, Ed of Ft. Myers, FL; 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; nieces, Katrina Davis, Shirley Strakos, Judy Snowdon, and Darlene Kelly who called her their other Mama.
Pallbearers are Alan Fernandez, Mike Brannan, Marc Brannan, Marvin Plumlee, Eric Coppin, and Gerald Goad.
