June Jones Howard

June Jones Howard, 87, of Mountain Shadow Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 7, 2023 at her home.  Cremation will take place and a graveside service will be held at a later date.

June was born November 21, 1936, in Carlsbad, NM to Sammie and Retha (Gossett) Jones. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1955.  June married Cliff Howard October 30, 1959 here in Carlsbad.  She was a wonderful cook and cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Mami”.  June was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Jones Swayze; brother, Lane V. Jones and grandson, Cody Hayes.

Survivors are her husband, Cliff Howard; daughter, Lori Howard Hayes; son, Joel Howard and wife, Dawn; grandchildren: Kacie Howard Kyle and husband, Scott, Haley Danielle Ramirez and husband, J.R., Jacob Ray Howard; great-grandchildren: Kade, Colby and Keegan Kyle, Rayleigh Michelle Ramirez and Avery June Ramirez; sister, Vallee Jones Galloway and husband, Jerry and several nieces and nephews.
