June Davis

June Davis, 84, former resident, passed away Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Florida. A graveside service is scheduled for January 14, 2016, Thursday, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery (old section) with Chaplain Andy Harris officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. June Davis was born February 5, 1931 in Deming, New Mexico to Cassius Clay and Harriett (Brazeal) Lawrence. She married Lee J. Davis December 3, 1947 here in Carlsbad. June was an avid genealogist and spent many hours working on family history. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, dancing, gardening and singing, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. June was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Felix Cicarelli; sister, Marilyn Lawrence; brothers: Norman Lawrence, Arden Lawrence, Neal Lawrence and David Lawrence. Survivors are her husband of 68 years, Lee Jefferson Davis; daughters: Linda Spinello and husband, Thomas of Lady Lake, Florida, Laurie Esquibel and husband, Ruben of Carlsbad, NM, Diana Davis of Ft. Pierce, Florida; sons: Ronnie Davis and wife, Kathy of Carlsbad, NM, Steve Davis of Vero Beach, Florida; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Colleen Tolbert of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces and nephews.
