Judith "Judy" Jones

Judith “Judy” Jones, 79, of Glasier Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Friday, December 1, 2023 at Goodlife Assisted Living, Carlsbad, NM.  Cremation has taken place and private services will be held.

Judy was born February 8, 1944 in McCamey, Texas to Jimmie and Edith (Faught) James. She graduated from Rankin High School in 1962.  Judy married Jerry Jones May 28, 1965. They moved to Carlsbad in 1971.  After raising Kent and Kathy, she began her career in real estate. Judy established the Century 21 franchise here in Carlsbad in 1987 and was the broker/owner until her retirement in 2009.  She enjoyed playing bridge, golf, reading and collecting baseball cards, but most of all, Judy loved spending time with her grandchildren.  She was a member of Sunset Church of Christ and served on the boards of Boys and Girls Club, Board of Realtors, chairman of Planning and Zoning Committee, Rotary and was a recipient of the New Mexico Quality Award.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Stanley James.

Survivors are her husband, Jerry Jones; son, Kent Jones and wife, JoAnna; daughter, Kathy Cole and husband, Lyle; grandchildren: Lauren Jones, Samuel Jones, Brent Cole, Brad Cole and wife, Amelia, and Ben Cole; brother, Jimmie James and wife, Roberta; sister, Linda Wallace, and husband, Libb, and several nieces and nephews.
