Juanita J. Ybarra, 72, of South Fifth Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, January 21, 2013 at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. A Vigil is scheduled for Thursday, January 24, 2013, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Friday, January 25, 2013, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Juanita J. Ybarra was born on June 25, 1940, in Carlsbad, NM, to Pablo and Dolores Moreno (Biscaino) Juarez. She attended Carlsbad Schools before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Domingo Ybarra on October 18, 1957. Together they started building their lives and their family. Juanita worked for La Caverna Laundry and Carlsbad Steam. She spent her last few years as a senior companion where she made a huge impact and was a great friend to those she helped. Juanita's ultimate passion was being a housewife and raising her children and grandchildren, never turning down an opportunity to entertain family and friends. She loved spending time with "the golden girls", playing cards and enjoying their great friendship. Juanita had such a loving heart, amazing soul and loved to no end. She was a great mother, grandmother and friend and will be deeply missed. God has gained an angel and a husband and wife have been reunited. Juanita was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Raymond Biscaino and Adon Juarez; grandson, Richard Anthony Galvan; and husband, Domingo Ybarra. Survivors are her daughters: Sylvia Guajardo and husband, Luis of Sahuarita, Arizona, Cynthia Granger and husband, Lonnie of Carlsbad, NM, Dina Ybarra of Phoenix, Arizona sons: Domingo Ybarra, Jr. and wife, Griselda of Tucson, Arizona, Oscar Ybarra of Carlsbad, NM, Gerald Ybarra of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Raul Biscaino of Odessa, Texas; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Randy Galvan, Robby Galvan, Miguel Guajardo, Zachariah Portillo, Shawn Thompson, Adrian Rodriguez, Bradley Rodriguez, Diego Lopez and Emilio Lopez.
