Juan Holguin Villa, 79, of Pecos Highway, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away February 14, 2011 at his home.
Visitation will be Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home.
A vigil is scheduled for Wednesday, February 16, 2011, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, February 17, 2011, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating.
Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors.

Juan Holguin Villa was born February 8, 1932 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Martin and Cruz (Holguin) Villa. He served his country in the US Army where he was stationed in Germany. Juan married Ignacia De La Rosa June 13, 1956 in Carlsbad, New Mexico. He began farming with his father and continued to farm throughout his entire life. Juan enjoyed being with his family, listening to Spanish music, watching cowboy movies, horseback riding and most importantly having family gatherings. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Sammy Villa and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Ignacia De La Rosa Villa of Carlsbad, NM; daughters, Sandra Castillo and husband Tim of Kansas City, MO, Sarah Sisneros and Sonya Villa both of Carlsbad, NM; seven grandchildren; Candace Salazar of Dallas, TX, Robin Sisneros, Vanessa Hernandez, Hyleen Hernandez, Richard Juan Hernandez all of Carlsbad, NM, Andrew Castillo and Esteban Castillo both of Kansas City, MO; three great-grandchildren; Isabella Salazar, Angelica De La Cruz and Aaron Gonzalez; three brothers; Emilio Villa, Martin Villa, Jr. and Manuel Villa; six sisters; Chana Ybarra, Virginia Leyva, Hilda Ramirez, Inez Quintela, Lorenza Jordan and Velia Estrada and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Rogelio "Bunny" Ybarra, Eddie Villa, Steven Quintela, Vicente De La Cruz, Orlando Villegas and Joel Conejo. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tim Castillo, Manuel Villa and his grandchildren.
