Juan "Johnny" M. Fierro

Juan "Johnny" M. Fierro, 55, of Socorro Road, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away October 1, 2010 at his home. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - Vigil, Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, October 6, 2010, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski OFM, Conv. officiating. Cremation will take place after services. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Juan "Johnny" M. Fierro was born August 24, 1955 in Carlsbad, NM to Bicente and Maria (Medrano) Fierro. He graduated in 1974 from Carlsbad High School and later served in the U.S. Army. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Becky Doporto in October 1974. They were blessed with three children and eight grandchildren. Johnny owned and operated Little John's Roofing and most recently worked for B & H Maintenance. He loved family gatherings and spending time with friends. Johnny enjoyed watching westerns and story telling. Most of all he loved watching his grandchildren laugh and play. He was preceded in death by his mother, Maria Fierro and brother, Manuel Fierro. He is survived by his wife, Becky Fierro of the family home; two daughters: Nichole Carrasco and fiance, Eugene Methola of Carlsbad, NM, Celina Duran and husband, Ruben of Denver, CO; son, Fabian Fierro and wife, Valerie of Denver, CO; eight grandchildren: Trey, Eric and Josiah Carrasco, Ruben John, Brandon John and Aleczaundra Duran, Fabian John and Anoriah Fierro; father, Bicente Fierro of Artesia, NM; brothers, Richard Fierro and wife, Lilly of Santa Barbara, CA, Jaime Fierro and wife, Christina of Roswell, NM, Edward Fierro and wife, Lucy, Joe Fierro and wife, Alicia, Alvino Fierro and wife, Lorene, Jerome Fierro and wife, Liza Fernando Fierro all of Carlsbad, NM; sisters, Benita Perez, Lucia Esquibel and husband, Alex of Artesia, NM, Carmen Rascon and husband, Daniel, Maria Martinez and husband, Ricky, Maggie Aragon and husband, Albert all of Carlsbad, NM; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Eugene Methola, Ruben Duran, Fabian Fierro, Trey Carrasco, Eric Carrasco, Ruben Duran IV and Fabian Fierro, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Fierro, Josiah Carrasco and Johnny's family.
