Juan Cuevas Gonzalez, 76, of East Cedar Street, Loving, NM, passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Texas Specialty Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Memorial Service is scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2013, 10:00 AM, at River of Life Church with Pastor Ramon Florez officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Juan Cuevas Gonzalez was born on August 22, 1937 in Piedras Negras, Mexico to Alvaro and Rosa (Cuevas) Gonzalez. He loved being with his family and friends. Juan enjoyed cooking out. He worked his whole life in construction. Juan had a strong faith in God and was a member of River of Life Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; one sister and two brothers. Survivors are his wife of 48 years, Emma Gonzalez of Loving; children: Juan Gonzalez, Jr of Odessa, Celia Ortega of Loving, David Gonzalez of Rio Rancho, Roman A. Gonzalez of Midland, Freddie Gonzalez of Loving, Edward John Gonzalez of Carlsbad, Stacy Gonzalez of Lawton, OK; sister, Cruz Bailey of Rio Rancho; 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
