Juan B. Martinez, 80, of East Second Street, Loving, New Mexico, passed away April 13, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Tuesday, April 17, 2012, 7:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Wednesday, April 18, 2012, 10:00 AM, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Juan B. Martinez was born in Pecos, Texas on May 13, 1931, to Guadalupe and Maria (Barraza) Martinez. He farmed in Otis for many, many years. Juan enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death his parents and several brothers and sisters. Survivors are his wife, Carmen Martinez of Loving, NM; 11 children: Enrique Martinez and wife, Yolanda of Pecos, TX, Ernesto Martinez of Pecos, TX, Joe Martinez and wife, Socorro of Pecos, TX, Zenida Wilkinson and husband, Richard of Carlsbad, NM, Yolanda Counts and husband, Tim of La Luz, NM, Juan Martinez, Jr. of Los Lunas, NM, Rose Arredondo and husband, Joe of Abilene, TX, Ricky Martinez of Abilene, TX, Gerald Martinez and wife, Diana of Los Lunas, NM, Diana Hernandez of Loving, NM, Leroy Martinez of Loving, NM; 32 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; sister, Jesusita Ortega; brothers: Gapo Palamino, Manuel Palamino and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Wilkinson, John Counts, Alan Martinez, Jonathan Fuentes, Gabriel Martinez and Daniel Ray Hernandez. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
