Joyce Spivey

Joyce Spivey, 90, of N. 5th Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Roswell, New Mexico. Visitation will be 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM, Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A graveside service is scheduled for Friday, January 15, 2016, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Mike Veilleux officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joyce Spivey was born August 5, 1925 in Calhoun County, Alabama to Harvey Regan and Imogene (England) Propes. She married James Spivey in 1950 in Rome, GA. They moved to Carlsbad in 1962. Joyce enjoyed fishing and traveling with James in their RV. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James "Ed" Spivey and sister, Nadene Traylor. Survivors are her son, James Spivey of Roswell, NM; sisters: Rose Moore of Bremen, Georgia, Edna Arrington of Leeds, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.
