Joy Wilson, 73, of National Parks Highway, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her home. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joy Wilson was born October 1, 1946 in Pampa, Texas to Royal Paul and Gertie Lea (Watkins) Halkins. She loved sitting outside in the afternoons drinking a cold pop. Joy enjoyed spoiling her little dog (Dash) to the fullest with treats galour. She was a crafty lady, her hand made Christmas gifts will be missed by so many. Crocheting became a favorite hobby of hers in the recent years. Joy was an avid reader, of mystery and crime stories being her picks of books. Her grandchildren called her Nanny and that stuck so well, that most that met her knew her as Nanny no matter who you were. She wasnt just any Nanny, a one of a kind Gem that in the beginning is kind of rocky but put a polish on it and tumble for awhile and by time it shines you discover how beautiful it is and wasnt just any old rock but something just a little more.
