Josie Estrada Trevino

Josie Estrada Trevino, 74, of Hickory Street, passed away September 29, 2021 at her home.

Visitation will be 4 PM – 6 PM, Monday, October 4, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church followed by a rosary at 6 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Fr. Hruday Kumar Pasala officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Josie was born July 14, 1947 in Carlsbad, NM to Alberto and Cristina (Hernandez) Estrada. She graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1966. Josie married T.J. Trevino, Sr. May 23, 1970. She worked and volunteered for the American Legion for many years. Josie always cherished the many relationships she made through the years. She loved cooking for her family and friends and was most noted for her tamales. Josie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, T.J. Trevino, Sr.; grandson, Adam Cody Coor; sister, Emma Yanez; brothers: Paul and Albert Estrada.
Survivors are her children: Carolyn Jurca and husband, Michael, T.J. Trevino, Jr. and wife, Brooke, JoAnn Trevino; granddaughter, Maia Elena Jurca; siblings: Minnie Juarez, Rosa Medrano and husband, Isaias, Pete Estrada and wife, Sally, Esperanza Mendoza and husband, Rick, Oscar Estrada, Helen Lopez and husband, Gerald, Ruben Estrada and wife, Polly, Roy Estrada and wife, Irma, Henry Estrada, Richard Estrada and Johnny Munoz; sister-in-law, Dolores Estrada and numerous nieces and nephews.
