Joshua Joel "Josh" Galindo Castro, 17, of West Ash Street, Loving, New Mexico, passed away Monday, April 23, 2012 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be Friday, April 27, 2012, from 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, April 27, 2012, 4:30 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca Street. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, 2012, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Loving Cemetery, Loving, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joshua Joel Galindo Castro was born on September 14, 1994, in Carlsbad, NM, to Alicia Galindo and Ernesto Castro. Josh's passion was hunting. He enjoyed mechanical work and took every opportunity to work on cars with his father. He followed his brother's footsteps in football and was selected as honorable mention this past season. Josh was an avid Greenbay Packers fan. He was always known to help others and he looked forward to weekends with his dad. Joshua was very faithful to God and would pray the rosary with his family each and every week. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ronnie Lujan, and grandparents, Conrado and Elvira Castro. Survivors are his mother, Alicia Galindo and Serapio Parraz of Loving, NM; father, Ernesto Castro of Loving, NM; siblings: Kiki Castro and wife, Michelle of Loving, NM, Cyndi Valdez and husband, Frankie of Carlsbad, NM, Kiki Lujan and wife, Anna of Loving, NM, Alexandria Lobato and husband, Julio of San Antonio, Texas, Anthony Lujan of Albuquerque, NM, Justin Parraz and wife, Crystal of Las Cruces, NM, and Joel Parraz of Fraizer, MT; grandparents, Rodolfo and Tina Galindo of Loving, NM; Godparents: Alejandro and Sylvia Gutierrez, and Oscar and Marivel Galindo; 14 nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Pallbearers will be Timothy Santo, Jaime Dominguez, Demetrius Broach, Mason Rodriguez, Roy Hernandez and Lawrence Granado, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are the Junior Class of Loving High School and Confirmation class of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving.
