Jose V. Franco, 71, of Wheeler Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at his home. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Friday, April 29, 2016 at San Jose Catholic Church. A vigil is scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2016, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Martin Cordero officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Jose V. Franco was born September 17, 1944 in Carlsbad, NM to Manuel and Blasa (Vallez) Franco. He attended Malaga schools. Jose was known for his kindness and helping others. He adored his boys and his grandchildren. Jose loved to watch the Dallas Cowboys play. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gloria Anaya; brothers: Epolito Franco, Manuel Franco, Ruben Franco, Carlos Franco and Pablo Franco; nieces: Lisa Navarette, Martha Garcia and nephew, Epolito Franco, Jr. Survivors are his wife, Lorina Franco of Carlsbad, NM; sons: Joe Franco, Jr. and wife, Roxie of Pasco, Washington, Bobby Franco and wife, Sally of Carlsbad, NM, Ricky Franco and Valerie Murrill of Carlsbad, NM, Andres Franco and wife, Victoria of Carlsbad, NM; brother: Juan Franco, 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard Lee Franco, Bobby Scott Franco, Joey Franco, Ryan Franco, Alex Sanchez, Timothy Franco and Ruben Franco. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com
