Jose "Cheche" Castillo

Obituary Jose Cheche Castillo, 80, of N. 3rd Street, Loving, NM, passed away January 5, 2021 at his home. Visitation will be 2 PM 4 PM, Monday, January 11, 2021 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Visitation is limited to 5 people in the chapel at a time and facial coverings are required. A private vigil and Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Loving, with Fr. Pasala Hruday Kumar officiating. Cremation will take place following the services. He attended school in Loving and Carlsbad. Cheche was known for his asado, his love for music, fishing and watching the 49ers. He also loved spending time with all his friends at his home, outside under the trees. Cheche was preceded in death by his parents; son, Joel Castillo; sisters: Clara Ramirez, Mary Olivo and Olga Florez. Survivors are his wife of 53 years, Guadalupe Castillo; son, Jose Castillo, III and wife, Brenda; daughter, Kendra Granado and fianc, Justin; brother, Pete Canano Castillo; grandchildren: Joel and Stormie Castillo and Laurynn Salas. Honorary pallbearers are Pete Martinez, Mark Olivo, Oscar Franco, Johnny Murillo, Dewane Brown, Victor Hernandez, Victor Murillo and Carmen Biscaino.
