Jonell Young Darling, 87, of W. Walnut Street, Loving, New Mexico, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Landsun Homes.
There will be no visitation.
A graveside service is scheduled for Tuesday, May 24, 2016, 2:00 PM, at Loving Cemetery with Brian McGonagill officiating.
Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Jonell Young Darling was born May 18, 1929 in Idalou, Texas to Glendal Daggs and Esther Oma (Dennis) Young. She graduated from high school in Silver City, NM. Jonell attended Pepperdine University and then married Duane Darling in Silver City. She worked for the Village of Loving and later as a librarian for Loving Municipal Schools for 15 years. Jonell enjoyed painting, crocheting, knitting and sewing. She loved taking care of her grandchildren. Jonell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane Darling and brother, Ted Young.
Survivors are her daughter, Peggy Rae Cope and husband, Chris of Las Vegas, Nevada; sons: Gary Darling and wife, Belinda of Carlsbad, NM, Kenny Darling of Loving, NM; grandchildren: Sandi Yarbrough, Lori Cathey, Clifton Cope, Kenna Jo Darling, Karli Rae Darling, Ridge Darling and Sage Darling; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers: George Young, Terry Young and numerous nieces and nephews.
