Jonathan Alexandre Knight, 46, of Mountain Shadow Drive, Carlsbad, NM, passed away December 20, 2022, at Covenant Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas. Visitation will be 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM, Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Pecos River Village Conference Center Carousel with Rev. Nathan Knight officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM.
Jonathan was born December 19, 1976, in Lubbock, Texas to Nathan and Marsha (Alexandre) Knight. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in Carlsbad, NM in 1995 where he excelled in athletics and activities. Athletics were an important part of Jonathan’s life, and he was known to be an “exceptional athlete”. While he excelled in multiple sports, Jonathan was a talented football player and 4-year Varsity Letterman, often making many headlines for the Carlsbad Cavemen. After graduation, Jonathan attended college at NMSU in Las Cruces, NM. Jonathan lived and worked in Lubbock, TX for several years before moving back home to Carlsbad to be closer to family and friends. He worked at Forrest Tire for several years and most recently worked for Crestwood Midstream Partners Oil & Gas Operators. He was a member of Riverside Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf and participating in community events. Most importantly, Jonathan LOVED and was greatly loved! He impacted the lives of many and has left an eternal impression and legacy of himself through precious memories of laughter, joy, love, and friendship. Jonathan was preceded in death by his nephew, Aaron Knight Vasquez; grandparents: Cas and Margie (Gadbury) Alexandre, and Doyle and Janell (Brown) Knight.
Survivors include his parents: Nathan and Marsha Knight; sister: Kelli Knight Barta; nieces: Brooklynn Vasquez and Trinity Barta; nephew: Trey Barta; aunt and uncle: Cheryl and Ron Nims; uncle, Mike Molinari and numerous cousins and dear friends.
Pallbearers will be: Adam Nims, Charlie Burkham, Joseph Gant, Randy White, Julian Martinez, Bart Bleumer, Jeremy Hudson, and Brandon Shields. Honorary Pallbearers include Stevie Chavez, Sal Hernandez, and his countless and cherished friends.
