Johnny "Johnson" Vasquez

Johnny "Johnson" Vasquez, 58, of Carver Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, joined his parents in heaven on July 26, 2009. Visitation will be 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, July 31, 2009, 10:00 AM, at Mt. Sinai United Methodist Church with Rev. Raul Dominguez Flores officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, NM. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Johnny Vasquez was born August 2, 1950 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Juan Bejarano and Lucinda (Sandate) Vasquez. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and attending concerts. He is survived by one son, John Vasquez and Sofia Sosa of Carlsbad, NM; two daughters: Sylvia Ellis and husband, Matthew of Albuquerque, NM and Frances Salgado of Albuquerque, NM; seven grandchildren: Chelsea, Mikayla, Elena, Rhian, India, Juan Diego, and Gabriel; one great-granddaughter, Marlee; two sisters: Chabela Brito and husband, Nick of Dallas, TX and Beatrice Chavez and husband, Felix of Artesia, NM; one brother, Ismael Vasquez of Albuquerque, NM; special friends, Mike and Linda Payanes of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter, Krystafer.
