Johnny G. Mendoza, formerly of Carlsbad, passed away on October 25, 2020. Johnny was born on December 1, 1962, to Carol Galindo Mendoza and Jose Mendoza. A rosary is scheduled for 9:30 AM, Thursday, May 13, 2021 at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 De Baca Street. Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the Rosary with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Johnny grew up and attended school in Carlsbad where he was involved with the Thunderbird Dancers and DECA. After high school, Johnny proudly served in the US Army for 4 years. He was a skilled mechanic by trade, but a true comedian at a heart. He enjoyed making people laugh and smile. Johnny never met a stranger. He passionately loved music, working in his shop and creating things from scratch. Johnny will be sorely missed and permanently treasured in every life he touched.

Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, Carol and Jose Mendoza; and, sister, Diana Mendoza Gomez.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Laura Mendoza of Whetstone, AZ; daughters, Jessica Mendoza Quesada, of Carlsbad, NM; Janella Mendoza, of Albuquerque, NM; Heather Hernandez and Chelsea Gregg of Whetstone, AZ; grandchildren, Jacob Gonzalez and Jayce Quesada; Tristin Sanchez; Kaiden Gregg; and, Ryder Samaniego and Brielle Gregg; sisters, Patricia Cota and Cynthia Aragon; and, brother, Michael Mendoza.
