John V. White

John V. White, 90, of East Orchard Lane, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Carlsbad Medical Center. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 13, 2011, 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, July 14, 2011, 10:00 AM, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 201 N. Guadalupe Street, with Fr. Cyprian Uline, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. John V. White was born April 15, 1921 in Ruidoso, New Mexico to Charles and Golda (Hamby) White. He married Margaret Bruhl on August 10, 1949 and they moved to the Brokeoff Mountains. There they ranched and built up in the LaPaloma Ranch that they dearly loved. They raised fine-wool sheep and won numerous awards for the wool. John and Margaret were partners in everything. She preceded him in death on March 18, 2011, leaving a void in his life that he couldn't overcome. They were married almost 62 years. He was also preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. John is survived by one brother, Jessie Ford of Arkansas, several nieces and nephews and a host of loving friends. Pallbearers will be Benny McCollaum, Richard Rauch, Berry Lucas, Justin Wilson, George Rauch and Laurie Kincaid. Honorary pallbearers will be Marion Hughes, Clifton Dean, Skip Shafer, Joe Stell and M.E. Switzer. Should friends desire, memorials might be made to Jonah's House, 512 W.
