John Kyle Russell

John Kyle Russell left this world behind for his heavenly home on Friday, January 19, 2024, after a battle with cancer and respiratory failure...a battle he fought valiantly to the very end...     Visitation will be held 11:00 A.M. – 1:00 P. M., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel.  A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Carlsbad Cemetery.  There will be a celebration of J.K.’s life, dinner at 3:00 P. M., at the Steven’s Inn. 

John Kyle Russell was born August 2,1963, in Midland TX.  Throughout his life, he had many adventures and he had so much fun... He thoroughly enjoyed his life, and his family, and his coworkers and good friends. He was first a son, then a father, a cook, a shoulder, a bodyguard and a good friend to many. He was consistent in his love and care for his mother, he was consistent and present for his son, and he was consistent in his career, as he spent 34 years with the Stevens Inn. 

 Those that know him, know he loved two things most in life besides his family...movies and karaoke nights. And he enjoyed people... He was a lover, and a peacemaker, and went out of his way for EVERYONE. He touched so many lives in his time here on earth. And he will most definitely be missed. His son will miss times spent with his dad DAILY at a movie, or the library, or Wendy's and a "biggie bag"... Him and his dad went and saw pretty much every Fast and Furious sequel together, and would frequently be seen around town by pretty much everybody!!! J.K. your spirit was ready, and your body was tired. We weren't ready. Not at all. 

 John Kyle Russell is survived by his mother, Anna Brinker of Carlsbad; his Son, John Hasting Moseley, mother and friend, Rebecca Moseley, Step - sister Lora Brittain, and nieces, nephews Heath, Heather, Lori and Troy; cousins Roy and Gary Dyer; and his honorary "stepson" Jakob S. Brown of TX.  With heavy hearts, we will be saying goodbye to our son, our father, and our friend. Rest easy J.K. ...
