John E. Roghair

John E. Roghair, 84, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 8, 2023 at his home with his wife holding his hand. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Monday, October 16, 2023, 11:00 AM at Covenant Fellowship Church, 6600 FM 1570, Greenville, Texas with Bro. Todd Barnes officiating.

John was born June 9, 1939 in Orange City, Iowa to Albert and Mabel (Shannon) Roghair. He served his country in the US Navy. After being discharged, John began work in the oilfield in California. He worked for numerous drilling companies in Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Wyoming and Colorado during his long career. John recently worked as a drilling consultant before retiring after 59 years of service in the oilfield. He married Raynae Lane April 15, 1983 in Carlsbad and he was proud of the fact they were able to return back to Carlsbad in retirement. John was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Barbara and Ellen.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Raynae Roghair; sons, Rick Roghair, Mike Roghair, Rex Roghair, Joseph Lane; daughters, Julie Allen, Leslie Roghair, Samantha Roghair, Christina Roghair; 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sisters, Lou, Florence, Lorrie, Diane; brothers, Del, Al and numerous nieces and nephews.
