Obituary John R. Hedgecock, of Rex Street in Carlsbad, NMpassed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2020, at Carlsbad Medical Center. John was born on March 23, 1956, in Roswell, New Mexico to Glen and Gladys Hedgecock. John loved the outdoors. He had countless fond memories of going hunting with his father and brothers around Ruidoso, NM. He loved to fish! Often talking or thinking about going fishing, he had story after story about fishing trips he had been on during his life. He was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and loved watching football, cheering on his favorite team. John will be remembered for his laugh and sense of humor; he always made others laugh by his jokes and for just being his goofy self. But mostly he will be remembered for his passion for his family,John was an avid teacher to his children and grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to help them or share with them the skills and knowledge he had learned along his journey through life.He will be dearly missed, and never forgotten. He was their Superman! John was preceded in death by his father, Glen V. Hedgecock; daughter, Sasha Hedgecock; and brother, Glen A. Hedgecock. John is survived by his daughter, Desirae Davis of Carlsbad, NM; Son in law Shane Davis of Carlsbad , NM; daughter, Kayla Hedgecock and fianc, Benjamin Garcia, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Sierra Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; six grandchildren: Brandon Davis, Journey Fernandez, Harley Fernandez, Aiden Davis, Avalon Garcia, and Lily Hedgecock; mother, Gladys Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; brother, Billy Hedgecock and wife, Thelma of Carlsbad, NM: sister, Linda Bravo of Carlsbad, NM; brother Robert Hedgecock of Carlsbad, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation, and a graveside service is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 11, 2020,at Carlsbad Cemetery. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
