John C. Lilly

John C. Lilly, 84, former resident of Carlsbad, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. Graveside services are scheduled for Thursday, April 20, 2017, 2:00 PM, at Carlsbad Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. John C. Lilly was born September 27, 1932 in Greenville, Texas to Elmer and Avo (Eldridge) Lilly. Long time resident of Carlsbad, John attended grade schools here in town and graduated from Carlsbad High School. He attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. John owned and operated Lilly's Flower Shop in Carlsbad for many years. He later moved to Albuquerque where he worked for People's Flower Shop where after many years he retired. John was an officer in the FTD Association before it became a corporation. He was also an officer in the West Texas and New Mexico Florist Association. John is survived by his brother: Michael Lilly of Phoenix, AZ.; and close friend: Chris Carrillo of Albuquerque, NM. Condolences may be expressed at dentonwood.com.
