Joe T. Goad

Joe T. Goad, 83, of Walker Road, Carlsbad, NM, passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at his home. There will be no visitation, cremaiton will take place. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 10:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery Gazebo with Pastor Jimmy Ryan officiating. Ennichement will follow in Carlsbad Cemetery Niche, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Carlsbad Veterans Honor Guard will provide military honors. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joe T. Goad was born September 28, 1931 in Carlsbad, Texas to J. T. and Helen Mae (Latham) Goad. When he was 10 years old they moved to Carlsbad, NM. After graduating high school in 1950, he joined the US Marine Corp. Upon returning home, he met and married Barbara Fisher. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara; sisters: Louise Bowman, LaVerne Gerrells and brother, John Goad. The family would like to give a special thanks to Landsun Hospice. Survivors are children: Gerald Goad and wife, Cathy of Carlsbad, NM, Terry Fretty and husband, Pat of Hewitt, TX, Greg Goad and wife, Lisa of Moody, TX, Susan Parker and husband, J. B. of Carlsbad, NM; 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Shorty Goad of Mineola, TX; sisters-in-law: Joy Goad of Carlsbad, NM, Joanne Fisher of Leakey, TX, Babs Fisher of Kerrville, TX and many loving nieces and nephews.
