Joe "Red" C. Rueda

Joe C. Rueda "Red", 53, of West Irvin Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011 at his home. Visitation will be Friday, December 2, 2011, 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at Denton-Wood Funeral Home and will continue from 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church, 1002 DeBaca, Carlsbad, NM. A Vigil is scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2011, 7:00 PM at San Jose Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, December 3, 2011, 10:00 AM, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Valentine Jankowski, OFM, Conv. officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Catarina Cemetery, Carlsbad, New Mexico. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joe C. Rueda "Red" was born April 29, 1958 in Carlsbad, New Mexico to Silvestre Cruz and Margarita (Carnero) Rueda. He married Lillian Methola on April 25, 1981 at San Jose Catholic Church. He loved to barbeque, was a huge Dallas Cowboy's fan, loved music and dancing and singing to the "oldies". Red was a Thunderbird Dancer and was in ROTC. He loved his family and was always surrounded by friends. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers: Art and Joe. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Rueda of Carlsbad, NM; four children: Michelle Hernandez and husband, Adam of Albuquerque, NM, Joe R. Rueda, II of Carlsbad, NM, Travis Rueda of Carlsbad, NM, Krystal Blu Rueda of Carlsbad, NM; three grandchildren: Blake Hernandez, Emry Hernandez, Joe-xander Rueda; mother, Margarita C. Armendariz of Carlsbad, NM; five brothers: Alex Duran and wife, Anna of Seattle, WA, Adon Armendariz and wife, Mary of Phoenix, AZ, Ignacio Armendariz of Carlsbad, NM, Mario Daniel Armendariz and wife, Bessie of Ruidoso, NM, Silvestre (Feddy) Rueda and wife, Luz of Carlsbad, NM; three sisters: Amelia Armendariz of Carlsbad, NM, Flora Corona and husband, Johnny of Carlsbad, NM, Olga Rueda and Pete Martinez of Loving, NM, Patty Carnero of Carlsbad, NM; aunt, Angelita Sanchez of Carlsbad, NM and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
