Joe F. Perez

Joe F. Perez, 61, of Carlsbad, NM, passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 in Bardstown, Kentucky at his daughter’s home surrounded by his family.  Joe was born October 17, 1960 to Jose Perez and Clorinda Fresquez in Carlsbad, NM. 

Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel. Following services, there will be a meal at the Spanish Church of Christ that all are welcome to attend: 414 S. Guadalupe St. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joe grew up in Carlsbad.  He married Alejandra (Sandra) Lara on March 14, 1981 and had two children: Joe John and Amanda.  Joe loved spending time with his five grandkids, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Westerns, and working outside in the yard.  He always had a project going on.  Joe always looked forward to family vacations.  When we were all together was what mattered the most to him.  Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy during Desert Storm.  He also worked many years at Intreprid Potash. He was preceded in death by his mother, Clorinda Fresquez; father, Jose Perez; brother, Frank Fresquez and father-in-law, Jimmy Lara.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra; son, Joe John and wife, Monica of Bardstown, KY; daughter, Amanda and husband, Shane of Bardstown, KY; five grandchildren: Jazmyn, Audrie and Harley Perez, Nate and Nash Traylor of Bardstown, KY; mother-in-law, Goya Lara; siblings: Belson Fresquez and wife, Mary of California, Carolyn Perez of Ruidoso, NM, Emma Garcia and husband, Robert of Carlsbad, NM, Augie Fresquez of Carlsbad, NM and several nieces and nephews, and best friend, Sam Martinez.
