Joe McCormack, 81, of West Pecan Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico passed away on Friday, July 30, 2021, at his home. Joe was born on December 21, 1939, in Marfa, Texas to Homer and Petra McCormack.
Visitation is scheduled from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Denton-Wood Funeral Home Chapel, following is scheduled a vigil at 6:30 PM. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, August 5, 2021, at San Jose Catholic Church with Fr. Juan Carlos Ramirez officiating. Interment will take place at Carlsbad Cemetery in Carlsbad, NM.
Pallbearers will be: Frankie Rodriguez, Jr., Jon Rodriguez, Robert Castillo, Jr., Joseph Castillo, Dominic Castillo, Eddy Hinojos, Esiah Hinojos, and Ryan Daniel Gonzales.
Joe started working at Rose Gravel as a truck driver before going to work at Duval and then Western AG potash mines. He then worked for B and H as a truck driver again before retiring. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, playing at any casino, and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Joe was a family man, and loved spending time with his loving wife and daughters, who saw him as the king of the home. Joe loved his grandchildren, and they had a special way of always brightening up his day when they came over to visit. He also loved his precious dog, Lela. Joe will be dearly missed and never forgotten by those who knew him.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Homer McCormack; mother, Petra (Madrid) McCormack; grandson, Elijah Hinojos; three brothers: Charles McCormack, Johnny McCormack, and Jimmy McCormack; three sisters: Alice Ramirez, Pearla Granado, and Grace Barela; and son-in-law, Frank Rodriguez.
Joe is survived by his loving wife, Mary McCormack of Carlsbad, NM; four daughters all of Carlsbad: Angie Rodriguez, Debbie Castillo and husband, Robert, Patsy Hinojos and husband, Edward, and Mary Joe Gonzales and husband, Daniel; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
