Joann Bostick, 77, of West Pierce Street, Carlsbad, New Mexico, passed away Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital. Visitation will be 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday, January 4, 2013 at Denton-Wood Funeral Home. A Graveside Service is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 2013, 11:00 AM, at Carlsbad Cemetery with Pastor Brad Coates officiating. Denton-Wood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Joann Bostick was born October 20, 1935 in Grassland, TX to Calvin Lee and Nannie (Bullock) Cooper. She married Earnest D. Bostick on November 29, 1952 in Post, Texas. Joann graduated from Beauty College in Carlsbad in 1967 and worked as a beautician for 12 years. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday School, supporting Missionary efforts and especially assisting at the youth camps cooking for the kids. Joann was a past Bluebird Campfire Girls Leader. She was an excellent seamstress and liked to sew and quilt. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Joann was a wonderful wife, mother and Nana. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Pete Cooper, Bill Cooper and sister, Flora Mae Paige. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Earnest D. Bostick, of Carlsbad, NM; son, Leory Bostick and wife, Robin of Carlsbad, NM; daughter, Joy A. Carroll and husband, Tony of Winnemucca, Nevada; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and four sisters: Pat Baker of Carlsbad, NM, June Rinker of Slaton, TX, Evelyn Enloe of Slaton, TX and Betty Calhoun of Ft.
